Life On The Spectrum

True to my promise to focus on autism awareness, I have signed up at SF Gate for a feed on Autism and Asperger’s related links.

Starting out the day, we have two links of particular interest; one that is in need of some serious educating, and one that has definite potential.

As for the one that NEEDS some education, it is ironically titled “Programs to Educate Community.” In it, autism AND Asperger’s Syndrome are both referred it as “debilitating” conditions. Um, hello? There is a comments section btw. I suggest you say something. I did. I’m just waiting to be approved.

Number Two–the article is here:
Natural Learning Concepts Shines the Spotlight on Remarkable People in ‘Life on the Spectrum.’

However, what it’s referring to is here: Life on the Autism Spectrum. Now for those of wary (or more) of ABA therapy, don’t let this website’s connection with it freak you out. From what I can tell, this website’s overall outlook is very positive; something that is missing from many websites. Feel free to correct me however.

I also just found an article over at CNN’s Money/Business section. On one hand, the article is very clear minded and logical; on the other hand, they quote someone from Autism Speaks. *blinks*

Read it here: Tracing Autism’s Roots.

  1. Its great that there are articles to raise awarness so its a pity when they cant get it right.

  2. Thank you for educating ME. I went and read your comment, and it’s wonderful. You are a well-spoken advocate. 🙂

  3. You’re welcome. 🙂

And ditto to you, Casdok. *sigh*

  4. Very good. I will be checking these out. It seems this month will be an over load of information. I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
